hey guys. i WWOOFed in Hawaii two summers ago. I loved my experience—I did five weeks on the Big Island, and five more weeks on Maui. It was really hot, really sweaty, really hard, but totally rewarding. I’d love to go back and do it again. If you’d like to talk more about this just let me know. :)

i screamed when i looked in the mirror. i thought i looked terrible and ugly. but that was for only about a minute. then i realised it looked fucking awesome. and it felt fucking awesome. and it’s a fun experience to see your hair grow out; have fun with the awkward stages. i can’t wait to do it again.
the hawaiian islands are the only places where i’ve hitch-hiked. i’m really, really hesitant about trying it on the mainland USA. i found it to be a mostly rewarding experience. with the exception of getting rides from men who thought i’d return sexual favors, most of the people i met while travelling were kind and generous and welcoming, and surprissingly, female! i’d strongly suggest going with another person, just to increase safety, and be concerned about doing it during the night. that said, if you’re ever in Maui, try to find a ride that’ll take you all the way down the Hana highway, because that was one of the best experiences of my life.
