Well, it’s Wednesday, so I cleaned the bathroom, and it’s the week of the full moon, so I emptied the catbox and replaced the litter. Small habits begun!
While cleaning, I thought how great my bathroom tray worked in helping me clear the counter quickly, and I realized I’d gotten the idea from a housekeeper. From there, my brain jumped to how I was my own housekeeper for my little living space, and I realized that one thing missing from my past efforts was something given for the housekeeper – clear expectations.
I mean, when are we done? What list of items can make certain chores complete? After all, a task without end is by definition, impossible to achieve.
To that end, I thought that, since I’m my own housekeeper, why don’t I sit down and – might sound crazy – hire myself as my own housekeeper? After all, if I were going to employ a housekeeper, wouldn’t I have to define which tasks needed to be done? Wouldn’t we have to work out how long all of it would take and what it would cost me? Just because I don’t have a housekeeper, that doesn’t mean I can’t answer these questions for myself.
So there are my thoughts for you today. Happy self-interviewing, and don’t forget to give yourself built-in bonuses!
