My book for March was “Like Water for Chocolate” by Laura Esquivel. I have loved the movie ever since I saw it in Spanish class in college. The book was even better than the movie. Esquivel’s descriptive language is brought to a boil in the kitchen, and it took me away to another place and time.
I’ve been doing this! Woohoo! It saves a lot of money. You don’t realize how much you spend on lunch when you think it’s a “necessity.”
I found out from my realtor/step-mom that we were approved by the association today to move in on Sunday! I’m so excited! God has bless me and my hubby so much.
My next trip to Puerto Rico is planned for May so I have to get prepared now. The last time I tried to fly to my husband’s hometown, I made them stop the plane before take-off and take me back. And the flight before that I was a basket case. Only two dramamines and two glasses of wine shook me out of my fears. Yes, I am that crazy person that makes you want to fly first class for life. But, if you read this and you believe in Jesus, please pray for me. I want to conquer this fear because I know I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
I’m getting somewhere on this. This morning I took the time to blow dry my hair instead of putting it in a messy bun. I may chop it all off though and go for a look more like this.
This class is definitely worth it. One of the best Bible studies I’ve ever done!

I gave my cousin Katie a homemade scrapbook… and about 10 hours of my week. I also spent a long time writing her a letter for her 16 birthday. I know it’s a big deal for her and I wanted to give her something meaningful. A little sacrifice never hurt anyone.
To do:
Throw a dinner party.
Have a Q/A night with my friends.
Plan a retreat.
Mafia night.
Costume party.
IDEA: Encourage friends while they’re on vacations or mission trips with personalized notebooks and/or scrapbooks with photos, Bible verses, facts about the place they are going and quotes.
The kids in Uganda are abducted and forced to fight in the rebel army for an evil man. The ones who survive commute 5 miles to the city where they sleep with tens of thousands of other kids with no supervision because they think it’s safe. Well, me and my friends walked to a local park and slept outside to symbolize what they do each night. It was freaking awesome.
To make up your mind and follow through is one of the most freeing things a people pleaser can do in life. If only I could find out what God wants me to do every day and simply do it with confidence, then I’d truly be living. I recently decided what I wanted regardless of men (but totally with God).
Wow. I thought silence was boring before, but the movie I saw was almost horrifying. “Borderline” starring Paul Robeson and the poet H.D. from 1930 was freaky and, I must admit, I left after about 40 minutes of torture. I bet the other more well-known silent films are better. But, crimes of passion without verbage really didn’t go over will with me.
The public relations etiquette dinner at UF was interesting enough. I actually learned that I knew a lot more than I thought. If only I was super confident – that would pull it all together. I’ll work on that next or for the rest of my life. ;)
Of course… the freshman 15 could not survive with Coldstone’s Cake Batter ice cream. Mmmm.
