I’m lucky that I live in a place where biking is popular and very common. The easiest way to incorporate biking into your life is to use yours for short trips…if you never bike and then decide one day to bike across town you probably won’t do it too soon again. To start off try biking to the nearby grocery store when you need to pick up some milk, or over to a friends house close by, bike downtown to a movie. Remember to have a light if you are biking at night and to bring a lock…biking is a great alternative to driving and according to the cdc the 3rd most effective cardiovascular exercise. Also, using a bike for short trips helps save gas and air pollution by eliminating “cold starts” in combustible engines. If you really want to bike a lot, consider moving to a town with a lot of paths, bike lane, and a condensed city plan (ex. grid pattern streets, good walkability etc). Hope this helps!!

Last summer I weighed 128 lbs and after college hit i ballooned to 140…I miss my clothes being comfortable and not tight so I want to lose the weight I gained. Sadly, I have an addiction to ice cream and junk so its going to be tough. Still, I’ve been trying to exercise every day. I ride my bike around town and to the gym, and I try to do a substantial work out. I hope this goal will keep me motivated and I will keep you guys updated….i’m always looking for advice :)
