sew a quilt

I used to make baby quilts for friends when they had their first child. And I made a huge quilt when I moved away from home – I incorporated all my High School T-shirts and band shirts and fabric with childhood cartoon characters – pieces of baby blankets,etc. Then I printed off photos onto T-shirts transfers and sewed in photos of all my favorite people. It looks awesome.

I’m working on one now for my boyfriend’s supercute nephew. It’s gonna be awesome!

Dance in the rain
So much fun! 3 years ago

I can’t count how many times I’ve done this. Hard summer showers are the best. My favorite was after a string of tornadoes when through Jackson and my roommate and I snapped after the college had a campus lockdown for like a week – it started pouring and we danced until the sirens went off and they herded us back into the dorms.

live on a farm

I grew up on a farm in Georgia – my father raised cattle. So when people asked me what the names of my pets were I rattled off our dog, cat and the names of like 50 cows…..

Oh! And when I was really young we raised two pigs every year, so my brother and I got to name them and “take care of them.” One year we named them Captain Hook and Mr. Smee and fed them our Halloween candy. Daddy was concerned we would freak out when it came “sausage time” but we just laughed over breakfast every morning wondering which one it was.

Farm kids. We’re heartless that way.
