A few years ago, I saw an interview on a local television station with a trainer from the local Team in Training chapter.

You can be a part of this if you help raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. In turn, they train you for a marathon, half-marathon, century bike ride, or triathlon; provide mentors to help with the fund raising; send you to your race; and provide accommodations at the race.
I raised over $4000, mostly by writing letters to family and friends asking for donations. I went from being a non-runner to finishing a marathon in only FIVE months! What an incredible accomplishment! I became friends with those I trained with, also all first-time runners, and we race together regularly for fun. I’ve since ran several half-marathons and another full marathon. I love it! I’ll be a runner for life, I hope.
You raise money for cancer research, and they do everything they can to help you do finish a marathon! Definitely a WIN-WIN!
I bought both a hammock and a hammock-chair while visiting Brazil. I believe I paid BR$40, which came out to US$8 at the time. They are both made of heavy and beautifully woven fabric. These are NOT the kind where elbows or knees can sink through the gaping holes. I absolutely love both, but I love the hammock the most.
