I’m quitting. Cold turkey. Right now. No AA meetings, no support groups, and no guilt regarding an occasional slip-up. But I will stop getting drunk every night and channel my energy into positively cliche activities.

How I did it: Well, first of all I had to get my citizenship. Then I had to do mounds of research in order to figure out who to vote for [GO BOB BARR!!!]. Then I had to drive to a polling place, around 1 pm, right after the lunch break. The place was empty, some nice old ladies gave me a ballot, I filled it out with PRIDE and....there it was. How I did it: Not sure if this counts as "organizing." I sat down, breathed a sigh of disappointment and nostalgia, and gave away all of the craft supplies that deep down I knew I wasn't going to use. I've stopped crocheting and knitting, so I gave away all of my yarn. I put the scrapbooking stuff away in see-through totes so that I would know where everything was. Read how I did it…
1. Finished reading “Death in the Pot” about food poisoning throughout history.
2. Watching The L Word – silly yet so addicting.
3. Playing with my bunny. He’s so cute!
This goal is far from being complete. I had a nervous breakdown a little over a month ago, probably brought on by sleep deprivation and stress. Since then I’ve quit my full-time job, abandoned one of my classes, and been drinking and chain-smoking like crazy. I am trying to make it better though, I have a psych appointment next week, and I will try to make it (unlike the one I had a few weeks ago that I totally blew off because I was feeling absolutely terrible). I feel like everything has fallen apart. Things just accumulate and everything is a disaster. And I sound so terribly cliche.
