eat less, eat different, all i have left to do is tone up and tune up... 2 years ago

after hideously gaining 10kg (22lb) in 3 months at the end of 2006, im back down to close to where i was before – still 7kg off target for where i should be for my BMI to be in range.

could really do with toning arms, thighs, stomach, shoulders, back… and SHOULD take up yoga etc again – it’s both motivation, and cost that hinder me – i could do it at home, on my own, if i got round to getting a good book/video to go through the main postures or find classes, but they’re quite costly and none are very local to me.

foodwise am staying clear of most things starchy or high fat, the odd pack of crisps or chocolate once a week excluded it’s mainly high fibre, high protein food, with plenty of vitamins and minerals to keep me going.

stopped my overnight nibbling habits through using melatonin and 5-htp as night eating can be a sign the body is lacking melatonin – dark lighting after 7pm helps the body produce more, bright indoor lighting in the evening reduces melatonin production.

occasionally have a nibble of something if i’m awake at 3am but don’t crave carbs as much now.

still, activity levels in general could do with a real boost – might give swimming another try once i replace my swimming costume and goggles that i left behind in my old flat as there is a pool nearby.

yeah… swimming. must take up swimming…

Get my nipples pierced.

12 gauge hollow cannula needles, ice, sterile wipes, 14 gauge ball capture rings, boredom and gritting one’s teeth when you feel the needle cutting through the flesh…

then bingo. all done.

just wash and clean and dress daily with non-adherent dressings, wear bra in bed for a week and padding inside.

ice or heat packs for initial pain – use ice for first few hours, heat thereafter, and keep them clean and covered for the first month or so to prevent infection and allow time to heal.

i’ve taped the rings upwards to reduce weight/pressure on the holes, after 2 weeks they’re pretty pain free – but am told it can take up to 6 months to heal completely so not to be tugged at for some time to come…
