I don’t usually use a bunch of formatting codes in my posts, but occasionally one of my entries needs that extra picture or text effects and it is such a pain sometimes figuring out out the alternate codes that the “textile” requires even with the guidelines in 43things.
Today’s example had to do with imbedding an image. I used the ‘
’ buffer to put in my image but it was not appearing. Then i found out it had to have a .jpr .gif or .png extension or it would not display. Took me 30 minutes to figure this out and it would be a big improvement to just use regular HTML code as opposed to all this specialty blogger tags.

I spent the afternoon driving through the corn fields and revisiting the Nebraska of my youth, ending up in Murdock, NE (population 269) a small farming community along the old Rock Island Railroad.

Very little has changed from when I was there before, and after speaking to the lady at the post office, a gentleman from the bank came over to open up the town museum. In the museum, I found out that Movie Director Alexander Payne’s grandmother (The Descendants) grew up here and his movies like ‘Citizen Ruth’ and ‘Election’ were filmed just outside the city.

After visiting the museum, I headed next to the Wildlife Safari Park near the Platte river North of Murdock. There I spent the rest of the afternoon on a really well laid out drive though multiple habitats and it was a really great experience. The Safari has only been open since 1998, so this was my first visit there.

It was a great day that I remember well even through its taken 7 months to post it here!
