I already acquired the Pimsleur Mandarin Comprehensive Level 1 last fall before a trip to Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Macao. After an on again off again stab at getting through those I am right at or about to graduate from lesson four and five. Since that trip I also subscribed to Chinese Pod.

I need to formulate a goal involving these two resources. A good initial target date would be July 4th when I leave for a 10 day trip to Beijing, Shanghai and Xian. That doesn’t give me a lot of time for this first step, but it does give me a lot of motivation to cram like crazy between now and then.

Haven’t come up with a goal such as vocabulary word or phrases mastered in a specific time frame.
