Just think of what the world would be like if everyone grew their own food! No more relying on big agra pesticide herbicide fungicide sprayed crap, but rather picking a juicy tomato to use in a dinner salad, or munching on raspberries straight from the bush! This is probably a radical concept to some, but all it takes is a little education, some land, and the motivation to make a positive change in the world! I’m far from my goal right now, as money and land are limiting factors. But I am working on getting there!

How I did it: I started out by decluttering my apartment and putting things in "use/don't use/maybe will use" boxes. All of the don't use stuff went either to donations or eBay if it was valuable enough. It's really refreshing to clean house and get rid of the stuff that you don't need or use but just takes up space, especially if you can make a few bucks while doing it! Once you get the ball rolling on selling stuff, it's pretty addicting and quite fu… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Threw a few things into a backpack and took off on a one way ticket to SE Asia. Took the slow, observational, reflection route that allowed me to really think about what I want out of life and what I have to offer. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Saved, saved, saved...then quit my job which gave me the luxury of time. Creating time to travel allows you to really experience the different cultures, and not just blindly follow some tour guide because you only have a few days before needing to get back to the office. I just returned from round two of my overseas journey. Had an incredible time connecting with new people, exploring nature, exploring my passions, and just letting go and being in the moment. I feel like I have a much better view of who I am and what kind of life I desire. Now that I am back home, it’s time to pursue a few of my interests and work my butt off to achieve some lofty goals that I have set for my future. One thing is for sure, I am officially addicted to long term travel, and have many dreams and aspirations to look forward to for the rest of my life!
The problem is not finding what I’m passionate about, it’s that there are just too many things! I have jumped around trying out new activities and jobs, but every time I start to get really good at something, I tend to overdue it and burn out due to my “all or nothing, 110%” personality. I’ve (hopefully) learned from my mistakes by now, and so just need to choose something and stick with it no matter what. Here’s my all encompassing list of what I enjoy the most and could find meaningful doing:
- Renewable energy
- Endurance sports/health & fitness
- SCUBA diving
- Surfing
- Hospitality

The biggest hurdle I have at the moment comes in the form of finances (like most). I have a lot of debt from school, as I intended to have a career in my degree to pay it off. Do I work to pay it off at a less than ideal job, and then make a jump to my true passion? Or do I spiral further into debt and take a chance that my passion will eventually get me a meaningful income to become debt free?
