Bake once a week
So far, so good

This is going well! I’ve done:

- molten lava cakes
- Oreo truffles
- mini Oreo cheesecakes

I also decided to take on cooking as well, so I bake one week and cook a meal the next week to alternate. I was kind of sick in between, so I didn’t do either for a week and a half. But my rule has always been not to make something others will eat if I’m sick (it’s the fastest way to spread germs).

I’ve cooked:

- capellini caprese with protein salad (tuna and chickpeas)
- fish filet in a vegetable melange

Today, I’ll be doing Smokey Chipotle Chicken Chili, and tomorrow, just to catch up on baking, I’ll do something simple I can take to work like chocolate covered pretzels… that’s not really baking, but it’ll be a nice treat for everyone in the middle of the day :)

drink 2 litres of water a day
Prep

I’ve set 8 alarms in my phone to go off every hour for 8 hours. These will remind me to drink a cup of water every hour. Hopefully this helps! I’m going to have to test it out on a work day too, but make sure I remember to turn this off during meetings and other important events.

I Ate That?! - A 30 Day Food Journal
My Calorie Counter

I’m doing this using an app called My Calorie Counter—it’s amazing! It tracks the food you eat everyday (not just calories but all the nutrition facts content), your exercise, and then at the end of each day, it calculates what you’re weight in 5 weeks if you keep eating/exercising the way you did today. Once you sign up, you’re prompted to fill in a profile which at the end, tells you how many calories you should be eating everyday (ideally).

For this first past week, I’ve just been monitoring how I eat without paying too much attention to limiting the types of food I eat. I can’t believe how bad some of things I eat are! Moving forward, I’m going to really start sticking to the plan it’s laid out for me. There’s also a few grocery stores near where I work, so maybe over lunch, I’ll head over there to pick up a few healthy snacks to keep at my desk during the day.

Using Excel to compare different Canadian schools :)

With time, I’ll also add in American schools.. but my goal is to stay in Canada if possible.

I’ve noted things down like pre-reqs and application deadlines. Gotta fill it in with more detail though! It’s really helped me realize what courses I still need to take and the little goals I should be focusing on, such as job shadowing, volunteering and raising my GPA. :)

Weeeee

Newest reasons for less closet space:

- black high-low skirt
- black jeans (cause my old ones ripped :’( )
- pink jeans
- pale green jeans (the “in”-color of the season)
- some accessories

Now I need some basics that I’m missing.. like a few tank tops to wear under stuff, and a leather jacket.. which isn’t really a basic, but a must-have!

More stuff

Went to the mall to shop for myself after a veeerrry long time! And I got the following:

- Fall/Spring jacket from Aritzia
- Steve Madden fall/spring ankle-high boots from Town Shoes
- a sleeveless white/black patterned top from Jacob
- a black work skirt from Dynamite

Success!! Spent a lot of money this time, but I think it was well-deserved. I’ve been working hard this term, academically and otherwise, and I also hadn’t shopped in a while.

new semester; new list!

I ended up completing a lot of my old list, but whatever I wasn’t able to buy got transferred to a new, more organized list of things I wanna get for the new semester. Pretty excited to start working and start shopping again :)

Update

I’ve decided to narrow down my goals a little bit. At the moment, I’m focusing solely on the DAT and dental school requirements.

Super late spring cleaning

I’m in the middle of moving back home and need to go through allll my clothes to evaluate how much I love certain things since I don’t have space for everything. That should drive this goal forward. ( :

Reunited and living together again!

So co-ops over and it’s the start of a new semester so CC and I are now housemates again! It’s been good so far. No awkward moments really, and we’ve actually been having a good time (: Went shopping the other day, and waiting for MP to come up and visit. We haven’t had a chance to party together this semester yet but hopefully sooooon!

We also went out 2 weekends ago (?) and stayed at MP’s house at home-home. It was an alright time… a little boring at the bar, but with all of us it was fine. The only thing is… MP always brings up things of the past and stuff she knows that I’m embarrassed about in front of other people. If it ever comes up again, I’ll have to say something…

painted red

I’ve been doing really well with this! I haven’t bitten my nails in weeks and all but 3 have nice tips. Once these three grow long enough, I’ll file the rest down. I painted them red last night.. and I’d have to say I’m getting better at this whole nail-painting thing… :)

Have nice teeth (read all 4 entries…)
whitening strips

I got some whitening strips and it’s day 5 of my treatment. I’m not sure if I see a difference yet or not :S. I guess I’ll have to wait until someone points it out. But hopefully! My teeth were really bugging me. I’ve also been wearing my retainer everyday :)

new semester

Got my calculus grade… 95% woohooooo! couldn’t be happier! that wasn’t at all what I expected. Though the exam went well, I thought I would’ve gotten around a high 80 or low 90, but mid is pretty sweet :)

And now I’m officially about a week into the new semester. I’m taking 6 courses, and the goal is to stay on top of my game so I spent a good part of the weekend studying… I also went out, so I’m balancing the two pretty decently … so far :)

24.04.2012 - 30.04.2012

Apr 24 – mom
She’s amazing. Took me to Costco despite the millions of things she had to do so I could pick up one thing for work. (:

Apr 25 – shopping and reunions!
SW came shopping with me to pick up the last of the gifts I needed for work. Then, mom and her helped wrap up the gifts. J was adorbs <3... he wanted to be a part of the action but poor kid got tangled up in the ribbon and slipped on the tissue paper. haha For SN, I got a bath and body works gift set and a headband. For DM, I got a mini orchid, a tea set from pottery barn that I stuffed with chocolate covered raisins and hershey kisses cause she loves chocolate. For the team, I got chocolates and the island sorbets from Costco. Gift wrappings pretty fun too. Mom's a pro. haha. NK and KG came over later to hang out for a bit and say goodbye since I won't be seeing them for a bit. It was nice to see my friends again. (:

Apr 26 – gift giving and Excellents!
The team and everyone loved everything!! The sorbets were a huge hit, and DM and SN hugged me and stuff. It was adorable. My work evaluation happened later, and I got an Excellent which was a great way to end the day. :D. Pretty successful first co-op term. Just gotta make sure I stay in touch with them.

Apr 27 – making new friends
So my team took me out to lunch as a Goodbye thing, since it’s our last day of work! I’m bittersweet about that because I loved it and wanna stay, but I def am ready to go back to school as well. DM couldn’t make it cause she had to go to a funeral in Barrie, but I guess she must’ve given SN money to pay for my lunch cause both of them pitched and covered me which was sweet. We went to Dunn’s (: They also gave me a card which I openned, and out came a $70 gift card to Forever 21. So sweeeeeeeeet! Can’t wait to use it. The card was amazing too. (: At the end of the day, we had to say our goodbyes and I knew the waterworks would come. When SN started talking to me, she gave me a great little speech and I started to cry a bit :$ :$. Then the two admin assistants, Debbie and Maryam made a huge deal about it so the entire office would hear :P. so awkward haha but oh well. I was sincere. (: After work, went out with SX, SC, MW, FH and JB to Elephant and Castle for a celebratory thang. We had some appetizers and beer. It’s nice to know that I built some great relationships here and made some good friends.

Apr 28 – spring cleaning
I had to start packing for school and got my spring cleaning on! Threw out a lot of junk and realized what I will be needing so I put together an updated version of a shopping list I guess you could say. I also made a trip up to UW to drop off a few things and check out the place. It was a pretty big disaster, but SW came with me and we both got started on the cleaning. Not too shabby.

Apr 29 – independence
Mom, Dad and J came with me to drop off the remainder of my stuff, help me clean and then see me off. Mom helped scrub the whole house down again. Love her <3. J was cute as usual... running around and causing mischief haha. After they helped me get settled in, they packed up a few things and got ready to go. I got a teary eyed when I was saying bye to J. I'm gonna miss him so much. :( But I'm also glad to have my independence again :).

Apr 30 – doing nothing and reuniting with CC
Spent the whooooooooole day literally doing nothing. HG came by to visit and I worked out before then… showered after he left (the repair guy came to fix the leak)... and just had the whole day to myself. It was incredible to do nothing. but by the end, I started getting bored. CC finnaaaallly came with ZK (they’re dating). Saw them for a bit, and hung out with CC.. catching up and stuff (: Also, decorated my room with pictures and a few things so the walls aren’t as boring as they were last semester haha.

forgiving

I’ve become a pretty forgiving person. It’s hard for me to hold grudges. I think there are sometimes there were also cases where I was too forgiving, but I’m on my way to finding a healthy balance.
