i love my little Human Rights 101 course. it’s not challenging in any sense, i mean we’re covering the War on Terror for the final 5 weeks. nothing challenging there, really. i mean, unlike many typically in their late teen/early 20’s in the class, i have the age advantage – i remember the invasion of Kuwait by Iraq and the entire unfolding of the events leading upto 9/11, as well as all those since.
I got 92.5% on my december exam.
I just handed in my 2nd paper – entitled
Human Rights Leaders of Today: Promoting Human Rights through Gender Equality and Access to Credit… hopefully it’s an A+ so I’m even closer to proving that I should be in a Master’s program :)
Wish me luck…

i’ve now been envolved with the AIDS Awareness Society at m university for 3 months, and I’m really enjoying it. I attended a Tools for Change conference on campus one Saturday, which really showed me how involved and engaged some youth are today. it was cool and I learned a lot.
in a nut shell, i’m now helping out organizing a conference on Responsible Citizenship and HIV/AIDS on Campus, organized by the Society. it should be cool, we have the university’s support, have met with various higer-ups, and are getting ready to pull the funding proposal together as we speak.
it’s slated for October, in Ottawa. Tell your friends!!

no sure if this counts, but the more i think about it, the more excited i get. i mean, who knows really?
ok… so my friend kiki just left for tanzania and had a swanky fundraiser to raise money to finish a school in a remote village there. the great news is a) she got there fine this week b) she raised over 7k; 50% more than she expected and enough to FINISH the school and c) my donated piece, a cool photo i took and framed, was tied with one other piece for the highest in the auction :)
kiki told me the girl who bought it was someone she works with. she said everyone loved it (i wasn’t able to be there) and that the girl who bought it called to say it looks perfect in her place and she loves it.
OMG!!!
MY photo is on SOMEONE elses wall??? WOW>>>
peace :)
