for a while I was very overwhelmed by all the emails. Eventually I went back to yahoo and changed my subscription to send me a daily digest instead of each message in its own email. This has helped tremendously! Now I only get one FlyLady email a day, not ten or twenty or more!

How I did it: I saved money & took my fiance on a vacation to nyc as a graduation present, then saved and bought a car, now saving for a wedding & a house. Oh yeah, and we got a dog in there, and I was able to handle his unexpected vet bills for health problems too. I scheduled automatic transfers from checking to savings to occur every payday (I have direct deposit). I made the transfers big enough that they added up pretty quickly. Read how I did it…
How I did it: We did the research & came to an agreement on the breed we wanted. Then we contacted the local breed-specific rescue group for that breed, & filled out an application. We agreed to foster a dog, fell in love with him, & adopted him. He is now our baby! (he's laying on my feet right now) Read how I did it…
How I did it: The most valuable thing I did was check out books on buying a car from the library. They gave me a lot of negotiating tips, and reminded me not to get emotionally attached to a car- and that is what made me so successful at negotiating. On the day I had narrowed down my option & was prepared to buy one of the few I'd looked at, I brought my dad with. While I can talk a good game, I look like I'm about 19 (though I'm far fro… Read how I did it…

I’ve been fluttering since June 27th, 2008. By last fall, my house looked great. Then we moved. I have been SLOWLY making it my own again. My most important tool has been my timer. Nearly everything I’ve accomplished has been in 15 minute increments.
About the fly tools… you can find most of these things without having to order them online (they are called different things of course). Pet smart carries a rubba scrubba for around $5 and a rubba sweepa for around $17. Costco carries a set of three large blue microfiber rags and a terrycloth washing mitt for $10 (they all look just like FlyLady’s royal rags and washing mitt). And of course you can get a standard timer for about $3 at the grocery store, though I am intrigued by the one that vibrates so you aren’t constantly bothering those around you. One thing I am interested in is the double-walled and double mouth stainless steel water bottle- I’ve yet to find anything like this out there yet.
I have an amazing park at the end of my block. But have I gone there much this summer? Not yet.
