For me, grad school was more of a transition between academics and the “real world”. It was a time for relaxation and reflection. I met my best friends in grad school; but as far as career-defining, grad school has no relevance to what I’m doing today. To a degree, I think it just indicates that I can focus on a topic and that I can think abstractly. Research skills are also important in many fields.
