I moved to the Bronx to immerse myself in Spanish. (Affordable rent, too!) La mayoria del gente en mi vencinidad, y la mayoria de mis clientes a mi oficina hablan espanol. Apprendiendo espanol, pero no es bueno o perfecto! I only speak in one verb tense, the present. It is harder for me to understand others who are speaking the language than it is for me to find the words I need in Spanish. The rate of speech and the accents here in the Bronx vary a great deal, because the people are native speakers from South America, Central America, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, etc. I have lived here in the Bronx for over two years and I try to speak with everyone only in Spanish. People are kind and patient. They are willing to speak slowly and help me learn the language.
