I used to need to control the outcome of circumstances because I was so afraid that if they didn’t go the way I needed them to, that something bad would happen to me. Maybe this was caused by a few traumatic events in my life, but I have learned over time (and through a lot of suffering) that God is always in control, and He will always lead me somewhere good. Even when things are going wrong, He still has a plan. He has taken away many things I thought I needed, but He has proven time and time again that He is all I need.

There was a time in my life where I strived to gain approval from people. I was very anxious and afraid all the time, consumed with the fears of failure and rejection. I thought I needed their approval to be okay with who I am, but even when I got that approval, I still felt inadequate.
It wasn’t until I starting to seek my worth in Christ that I started to calm down on the inside. I no longer feel the need to show off or prove myself to anyone. I no longer feel anxious when I fail, and I know that God has a plan and a purpose for me no matter what. It feels good to be me!
I don’t know why it’s taking so long for my soulmate to get here, but he needs to hurry up! I mean, I know there is a reason I am single, and I need to fix some problems in my life before I jump into a relationship. And the only reason I’m in such a rush to find somebody is because all my friends are getting hitched, and I’m the only single one. Deep down, I know I’m not ready for a relationship, and honestly, I don’t want their relationships because I don’t feel that any of them are truly happy. I want to take my time and be patient and find somebody that I’m REALLY compatible with. I don’t want to get with someone for the wrong reasons. So I want to find my soulmate at the right time, I just wish that right time would hurry the f* up!
