Bubbles 16 months ago

At last, I am finally growing up. Now, 37 years old and just now understanding that fairy tales are best left in books. There is no Prince Charming, there is no Wizard of Oz, just the man behind the curtain. It’s kinda sad and grounding to feel the “butterflies” slowly flying off. My partner has been wonderful, and I shouldn’t complain, but there is something to be said when the real person emerges. No more trying to be our best selves for each other. The facade of spirituality cracking under the weight of being human. Still, the best part of it all is knowing this is what makes us human. And so, the bubble bursts….

Stern Grove and Movie at the Beach. 16 months ago

Aha! Something new and fulfilling for June. Yes, ladies and gents, I experienced a free Stern Grove concert in San Francisco. The two bands were AfroFunk Experience and Egypt 80. Awesome time. Great fun. My partner has really shown me a good life. We had a great time just sitting in nature, on a log, eating yummy Italian sandwiches, and enjoying the tunes. After that, we drove his VW bus to a nice spot on the beach, whipped out my computer, and watched a movie. Can’t beat that.

At the last minute.... 19 months ago

I almost decided not to add this entry, but thought why not? Let me just start by saying that I was never the “other woman.” My SO’s divorce is final! It was final in his mind when we met, but I still felt a little twinge of shame. As I said, I was not the other woman…there was no other woman, but I guess I needed to know he was not some other person’s property. Yep, I am old fashioned in a sense, and could not hold my head up high in the community. No one judged me or him, but I did in my heart. Now, I don’t have to have those awful feelings. It is fulfilling to feel clean about our relationship.
