After doing sixteen comics and having a great time, it’s safe to say my webcomic is a reality! I’m definitely going to keep it up. It’s at http://www.twonewthings.com. Let me know what you think!

i need to remind myself to look into iras and an index fund when I have more money… my mom doesn’t want me to just yet, to keep college financial aid calculations simpler, but if I put 1 or 2 hundred away soon it might not be a bad idea.
Dream journal’s been going 4 days now. So far I’ve remembered one dream every night, though they’ve been pretty short/hard to remember. In last night’s, my friends Jon & Daryl & me were at a huge indoor convention; guest speakers were talking about the AIDS epidemic or something. Then everyone stands up so we think it’s over, but then everyone starts singing the Star Spangled Banner. But gradually they begin to lose interest or something, because people just start quitting in the middle of the song and turning to leave. By the end of the song I’m the only one still singing and even I’m walking toward the door with Jon & Daryl.
The night before that, I hardly even remember having that dream or writing that entry… here’s what I wrote:
gossip lessons from/about Joyce
firefighter tryouts/basketball team vs. others
scrawny superstrong guy
Dana’s potluck w/ mock broccoli
If anyone has a clue wtf I meant by “gossip lessons” or “mock broccoli,” let me know, ‘cause I sure don’t.
so far so good. but it’s only been two days. why does my multivitamin’s list of ingredients include “corn starch”?
Inspector Gadget took the Cafe Press main site down for maintenance. foiled again!!
Alright, I’ve figured out a measurable criterion for every one of the goals on my list, so I know when it’s “done” or when I’ve made progress. For ongoing goals, I’ll mark them as done when I’ve done them for 21 consecutive days (supposedly long enough to make something into a habit!)
I know for myself what doesn’t count as ‘fooling around’ on the net, and what does. Wikipedia. Mega64. Penny Arcade. etc. If I can go 21 days (long enough to indoctrinate a habit) without wasting too much time at such sites, I’ll consider this goal complete!
Okay, this is pretty ambitious, but here’s what I want to do…
> Memorize one notable thing that happened on every day of the year, so that when I hear someone’s birthday, I have something memorable to link it to in long-term memory. (what’s easier, to remember that Dave was born January 17, or to imagine him getting clocked by Muhammad Ali (also born that day))?
> Memorize the birthday of everyone in my addressbook.
Specifically, I want to learn how at least 10 things work off of howstuffworks.com. cool site.
My problem here is that I’m inconsistent. My goal is to donate at least a little something, say $60, every month.
... to be less shy, by actively making 5 new friends this quarter (people I wouldn’t feel weird about asking personally to do something like watch a movie, play a game, hang out for awhile in their room, etc.)
I have a store up, and a bunch of product images uploaded… just need to get some products up and start publicizing…
This is a hard thing to measure. But little things can mean a lot. Some possible, little ways to do this include:
> remembering people’s birthdays
> remembering people’s names
> surprising people with out-of-the-blue gifts
> responding to e-mail quickly
> sending handwritten letters and postcards to friends & strangers
> donating money to charity
more ideas on this topic? would be much appreciated.
after I send five random postcards and two to my friends, this goal can be considered done… unless I wanna do it again!
Run for an hour a day, 6 days a week, that’s the goal. Shouldn’t be too difficult – I’ve been running an hour a day for about 3 days a week for awhile now, but I’m inconsistent.
