Very glad after years of practice that my Skype language exchange partner said I was fluent during our last call. Yay! I’m still not fluent according to my own criteria as I don’t feel I’ve got enough vocabulary and my mastery of some of the basic grammar rules leads to awkward or halting communication. I’m still a bit fuzzy about when I’ll feel I’m fluent – but my working definition right now is that I’m comfortable speaking in the language with co-workers who are native German speakers. I’m definitely not there yet!

How I did it: In a word maybe it was GIT. The model used by GIT makes it very easy to contribute to open source projects because you can just "fork" the code and then request that your change be examined and incorporated. This took me quite a few years because the older model meant first spending time proving yourself, building a relationship, and then being accepted onto the list of committers - and mostly I was just too busy. But the other way was simp… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Found a very inexpensive property with a good rent income potential. Most of the time spent not doing this was from learning more about the dangers of high rents and bad property management. Read how I did it…
Yesterday I used up my first 5 lesson punch card at http://yogaintheroot.com and today I just bought my second card so by my criteria from the last post – this is now complete. I’m looking forward to taking classes more regularly than I have been – but at least I feel I finished the goal of “take yoga classes”.
Although the book is published on Lulu.com, it’s not public. But we’re happy enough with it that my folks bought 15 copies. So at last this is complete.
