On Monday, May 19, 2008, I was grateful for: 2 months ago

1. Going back to work tomorrow after a month of being unemployed (good because I’ll have medical benefits again / bad because I don’t wanna work!)
2. Finally the weather has cooled off back to the 80s instead of 100s.
3. Jazz festival is coming up this weekend – should be so much fun!
4. I’m just one month and one day away from my one year anniversary with my boyfriend. :)
5. Getting some unfinished legal business taken care of that should be completed very, very soon!

On Sunday, May 18, I was grateful for: 2 months ago

1. Got a new job! So much for milking unemployment. I’m taking a pay cut from the last job, but I was getting killed in taxes anyway, so it may all balance out in the end.
2. Went for my first swim of the summer – so much fun. I may have even picked up a little bit of a tan.
3. Having the option to take public transportation to my new job – I can be environmentally friendly again! (And save on mucho gas)
4. Feeling more like a mom to my bf’s daughter every day that I bond with her more (this is especially important as her real mom barely even comes around to see her).
5. Just having a great weekend spending time with the people I care about.

On Thursday, May 15, 2008, I was grateful for: 2 months ago

1. A recruiter calling me about a really amazing job opportunity at a prominent consulting firm. I’m going to put a lot of effort into trying to get this job.
2. Getting my walk done for the day – I forgot how good it feels to exercise (and also how hungry it makes you!)
3. A fully functional air conditioner at the house to help me survive the next 4 days, which are expected to be 100 degrees.
4. My bf’s daughter calling out for me in the middle of the night and not him – I think it’s a sign that she’s beginning to look at me as a parent and that she can rely on me for comfort and safety just as she feels that way about her dad too.
5. Food network – it’s just too much fun to watch for me.
