learn how to play the guitar
I just bought a guitar. 12 months ago

It was the cheapest one in the shop, but I love it already. They guy who sold it to me was a total rocker and contained himself quite well when I said I just wanted to be able to play a few tunes in my backyard.

I’m very excited.

invest in microfinance

I’ve been loaning to Kiva.org for more than a year, and in that time have supported more than 20 micro businesses in the developing world. It’s totally worth doing and you get your money back!

have a garden
Untitled 15 months ago

I just planted my summer garden. Basil, tomatoes, lebanese cucumbers, watermelons, eggplant, two kinds of chillis, and lots of different herbs.

Gardening is really relaxing, and it’s also taught me to have a kind of patience I never did before. It’s also taught me to plan ahead. I don’t think there are any other 20 year olds who hang out in their backyard on Sundays gardening, but it rocks.

Most importantly, don’t worry too much about getting things right. Just buy a few packets of seeds, chuck em in the ground and see what happens. It ain’t rocket science and as long as you water a few times a week and n occaisional fertiliser, it’s hard to go wrong.

I just bought a kaffir lime tree as well which is so exciting – lots of thai food coming up. I have plans for growing my own lemongrass too.

YAY!
