How I did it: I transferred with a TAG (transfer admission guarantee) from my California community college. It took me a long time to understand what I needed to do, and a lot of it was my own research (and trial and error), but counselors were crucial in this process. Read how I did it…
I actually feel like crying if I think of trying to paint or draw something seriously. I can’t think of anything to draw, and I’m really afraid of messing up, especially if I’m actually trying to do well. I don’t want to be criticized either—in fact, I’d rather avoid all feedback and keep it to myself. I tend to think it can’t possibly be good enough to show to anyone. I guess I also can’t help thinking that being creative is for little kids and people who won’t grow up. I wish I could learn how to enjoy being artistic, especially through visual arts. I used to sketch now and then with charcoals and colored pencils. Maybe I should buy a couple of things at an art store and try it out again, just to get started. I’m not going to try to become a master at art, but I do want to gain some skill and, most of all, let myself be creative.
I got an A: sehr gut! I’ll get my certificate in the mail some time this week :D! Maybe now I could work in Germany :).
