How I did it: A few weeks after I posted this goal a sack arrived through our door to donate clothing to the NSPCC. This is one of my favourite charity's, and I have always wanted to donate monthly but am not in a position to set up direct debits at the moment, so this seemed like a good opportunity to give to a charity - especially one that meant so much to me. I filled the sack with a lot of clothes, most of which were brand new and still had tags on… Read how I did it…
How I did it: We flew to Amsterdam, which was so much easier than interrailing as we had done previously - my boyfriend was able to find us reasonably priced flights! The city of Amsterdam is amazing. I have now decided I love Holland! There is so much culture in the city, and obviously there are also hedonistic elements that the city is known for. This was an interesting mix, but I think Amsterdam gets a bad name. It was clean, peaceful and you really… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I decided this year to do a handmade Christmas! I have very little money, what with being a student and all, and decided handmade was the way to go. I made a lovely tote bag for my mum with a felt appliqué of her puppy on it, and Elvis book cover for my dad, gingerbread tree decorations for my grandparents, Simon's parents and my dad's girlfriend. I created an owl for my best friend, two caricature dolls for my other f… Read how I did it…
Me and Simon booked our hotel and flights tonight. It was a toss up between Rome and Amsterdam. Financially Rome wasn’t an option, so we’re spending five nights in Amsterdam and I can’t wait!
Here’s a painting I just added to my Etsy shop. I painted this canvas for two reasons. I’d started a canvas like this years ago and never finished it. It had a smudged brown background and a blue fence, which I planned to put ghosts behind. I love how this one turned out, and how the smudged brown border turned into an oval frame.
I remember having a book when I was little called ‘The Little Ghost’. The front cover was a grainy illustration of a ghost in an attack with a big happy smile. Since then I’ve always loved the idea of ghosts being friendly, playful and not at all sad that they’re dead. I added little twinkling stars, and some daisies on the hill to make it seem a cheerful playground for the ghosts.
