So the front page of the paper today shows that California is now having to pay five dollars a gallon for gas. Why did I want to keep up with all of this again? I feel like I have quite enough bad news to deal with already…

Perhaps I did a little too well. She now checks every two hours for new loose teeth…
My sister (who left today), knocked Thing One’s tooth out yesterday. We put it in an old (clean) baby food jar until bed time and Thing One wrote a letter to the tooth fairy. At bedtime she stuck the tooth in the pocket of her new tooth fairy pillow and went to bed. After everyone was sleeping, I pressed five quarters into a versa mark pad and then dipped them in glitter (so it would stick). Then I sprinkled a trail of glitter across her room and out the window and then outside for a bit. When she woke up, she was so excited. She showed everyone the trail of glitter and wouldn’t even listen to my sister when she kept saying the tooth fairy isn’t real (argh!). She just pointed to the glitter and rubbed her quarters together. (I gave her five because she’s five and…it was a very nice tooth…) Meanwhile, the tooth is back in the baby food jar and hidden behind a stack of books at the back of my computer desk. I just have to figure out what to do with it now.
