I’m back on the patches. I did manage to go without patch for 10 hours though, and I must say I didn’t really feel bad or edgy or anything. Still, I’m going to run a normal quiting-shedule which means I’ll still be wearing the 21mg patches for at least another week before switching to 14mg.
Btw, I went training 2 days ago and it’s almost unbelievable how well my condition has already improved. I hope all other smoke-quiters or doing fine also.

So I’m driving to work this morning and suddenly I realise I forgot to put on a new nicotine patch!! Shiiiiiiiiit, day 7 and no nicotine patch, that can’t end well. The patches are great to quit the habit of smoking but they don’t really help you getting rid of your nicotine addiction, certainly not when you are still using the 21mg patches (highest dose). I got really tempted to smoke when I saw my collegue smoking (having no patch means I could smoke without suffering nicotine overdose) but I managed to stear clear.
Btw: I could have gone to the drugstore and get a new box of patches to get me trough the day but I’m actually managing without them!
I’m really surprissed how calm I am, despite the fact that my body should have a problem not gettting any nicotine. To be clear, this was a nice experiment but I’ll be using the patches again when I come home tonight. Part of the advantages of the patches is that you can’t smoke while wearing them because otherwise you overdose on nicotine (which really doesn’t feel good).
I don’t want to become overly optimistic either and think I have won this fight after only 7 days. I’m gonna keep the patches but I might considder switching to a lower dosage in a week already (from 21mg to 14) which normally takes 2-4 weeks.

I skipped last training because I didn’t feel like going. It’s not that I compeltely don’t want to go anymore I just wasn’t in the mood. I have to accept that I won’t be ableto/want to go 100% of the trainings. It’s wednesday now, so training tonight and I’ll be going :)
Btw, I quit smoking 6 days ago, so aside from training hard, this will also greatly improve my condition :)
