Z (Zed) Festival is something that my uni does every year. They take a bunch of students that want to perform/direct/tech etc and they go put on shows in Scotland. My friend Lucy and I are working on a script right now to take, and we’re both hoping to perform in and direct it :) We know we’re definitely going, the only thing we don’t know is whether our script will be chosen to perform – but here’s hoping!

How I did it: I just arrived this morning. It's crazy - even though I was born here, and lived here until I was 9, it's still total culture shock. Everything is just different, and it's scary being so far from the familiar! But it's exciting too :) Read how I did it…
How I did it: I just worked really freaking hard to not spend money on luxuries, so that I could save the money to settle it early. It fet SO GOOD walking out of the bank and knowing it was all done though! Worth not buying so many pairs of new shoes :P Read how I did it…
How I did it: The most scary thing about it for me was that I live in HK, and a lot of the time over here, you tell a hairdresser what you want and they pay you no heed and just style it how they think will look nice. Which means you can end up looking really stupid. SO! Today I got a REALLY exciting letter from the university I applied to (yes, singular!) stating an unconditional offer AND granting me home status! YAAAY! Home status is something I’ve had to fight for because, even though I was born in England and both of my parents are English, I’ve been living in Hong Kong for 12 years, and for the past 3 years, that’s been entirely my choice to stay – I could have moved back to England when I turned 18 without my parents. So that is totally AWESOME! So, this September, I will be starting a three year Joint Honors Degree BA in Theater and English! SO EXCITED!
A week tomorrow, on the 26th February 2009 at just before midnight, I will be boarding a plane to the UK and waving goodbye to everything familiar. I’m terrified, and I’m excited. I’m preparing myself. Today I started packing suitcases; anyone want a job sitting on them for me? I never realized how many clothes I had until I tried to squish them into two suitcases and 42 kilos! God I’m nervous!
