I’m going to sign us up for a family membership at the Y. I need someplace where I can drop my toddler off to be watched while I take a class or work out in the gym. Getting regular exercise is next to impossible as a mother of a young child… I hope that joining the Y will help me overcome this roadblock.
I taught myself to knit over a decade ago, using a cruddy instruction booklet from Woolworths. As a lefty, I had to mentally “flip” all the instructions. It took a couple of months to really get the hang of it, but once I did, I never looked back! Since then I have also taught myself how to crochet, spin, weave, tat, weave kumihimo braids, make netted lace, and embroider. I’m always looking for new “string arts” to learn – I’d like to learn bobbin lace and naalbinding.
