I’ve been so bad about this lately! The laundry is piled up, there’s dishes in the sink, and my shower needs scrubbing. There are about 5 pairs of shoes in the livingroom, and mail, makeup, and jewelry piled on my dresser, kitchen table, and bathroom counter. I don’t like things to be messy, especially since I live in such a small apartment, but I’m not that good at routine cleaning. I’ll go on a “cleaning rampage” every so often instead. Still, if someone was to stop by my house today I’d be embarassed. I just really need to start cleaning a little bit every day.

How I did it: We hadn't had the money for a real honeymoon after our wedding (we'd gone on a camping trip instead and got rained out) I felt it didn't quite count as a honeymoon and wanted to go on a "real" one. Well, we ended up getting invited to go on a cruise with the in-laws but it was different than vacations we've been on with them in the past. We had our own cabin (with no windows several floors away and on the other side of t… Read how I did it…
I recently read Michael Pollen’s book “In Defense of Food.” It was both informative and inspiring regarding this goal. I found a local farmer’s market that does CSA boxes and got one last month. The quality, taste, and price were all better than can usually be found for organic food in the grocery stores here. However, it was too much fresh food for my husband and I to eat at once, so I chopped up a bunch of the veggies and froze them. Now I’ll just be able to get off of work and drop them into whatever I’m cooking with less prep time.
I made chicken fricassee the other day. It was almost as good as Grandma’s. My husband loved it. Does that count?
