How I did it: I just kept trying different recipes from cookbooks and websites. I went through tons of recipes from books and magazines and learned a lot about food and cooking in general. I had to become willing to experiment. I stopped ignoring recipes with ingredients or methods that were unfamiliar or seemed intimidating. I just read the last entry, and it makes me feel good!
I did end up taking the CNA course. I’ve been working in a nursing home for more than a year.
I didn’t end up going to Italy last summer. But I did visit 4 other European countries!
I paid off my car last winter.
And right now I have 10 thousand dollars in my savings account!
I went from working at a gas station full time making $265/week and hating the customers to working as a private caregiver to an elderly woman making $450/week and really enjoying it!
I always thought it would be stomach-dropping the whole way down, but my friend who’s done it 500 times (he works for a sky-diving place), said it’s really not.
I’m spending all my money on a trip to Europe this summer, so I can’t do it until next year anyway.
