I graduated in the spring with my degree in Anthropology with a specialization in archaeology. Finally got the drudgery of academia finished… now to the real world of archaeology. The complex mirage of cultural resource management – archaeology under money, time, and various pressures.

I finally have it… in all its glory. A Kenmore sewing machine, gleaming white – got it as a gift brand new.
A friend and I went to the fabric store and picked out some plain and decorative fabric. I now have 2 and half yards of fabric … and soon I’ll have … something.
Haven’t decided what to attempt. Perhaps a dress…

I’m not sure where to get a cheap, not super fancy (just will get the job done) sewing machine. Any suggestions?

There is a strange poetic undertone to this goal, which perhaps only I will understand. But my relationship with chickens, and especially rosters has had a rather nightmarish start (well at least for a 5 or 6 year old, as I was at the time). However, if I could live harmoniously with chicken later in my life, it would feel like the natural flow of things.
Chickens take relatively little land and provide both eggs and meat. If allowed to roam or the pen area moved is occasionally they do not impact any one area too heavily. Chicken coops can be elaborate or simple and size is dependable on the amount of chickens.
Now… I just need to own place where I can have chickens.

Why support the death of more turkeys, when I can celebrate in the sustainability of cheese?
The plan is this Thursday (Thanksgiving), go to the grocery store and buy 3-5 different cheeses and just marvel in the texture and taste of all the crazy kinds of cheeses that always seem to exist in every super market. With all the varieties of cheeses out there, someone must explore and try to appreciate all of them.

I’m finally going to learn how to fence! I’ve signed up for a class through the local university and I’m going to do it.

Well, just a few months to go and I’ll graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology with a specialization in Archaeology.
Now I just need to find an archaeology job for the summer of 2009. I’d rather not do a CRM job in the states but to go abroad if the opportunity arises.

Its harder than one would think to find individuals who you can honestly value and enjoy spending time with. So, as I go through my life, I hope to begin to find true friends and build a network of sincere comrades, who are each unique and different from me in their own ways but that we may still respect and enjoy each other’s company.

I’m tired of letting fear stop me from doing things. I want my courage to overcome my fear and learn to always conquer, instead of turning away from obstacles.
So, where do I begin? I just go… go for it. Do something courageous now.

Who doesn’t want to know sword play? Its displayed in the movies as a graceful power developed from a refined history swirled with tales of adventure.
Thus, it is my goal to learn to be handy with a sword by learning how to fence. The only thing is where are places you can learn to fence? And how can I find them?

Yes, archaeology may not be what Indiana Jones makes it out to be, but the excitement of discovering what was once hidden, is still there and vibrant.
I’m moving on toward my goal of being an archaeologist. First step, acquire bachelor’s degree in archaeology, which is in progress right now…

And so, my quest continues with the consumption of Goat cheese. This is a type of cheese that should not be missed! It is so dense, creamy, and smooth. Goat cheese has a distinct flavor which I can not find the correct words to describe at the moment. Its consistency is close to that of soft cream cheese. I found it to be quite good with an assortment of crackers, but my favorite combination was with soredough bread rounds.

A life filled with college classes and the constant grind of being confined to the box of illusionary educational exploration has made the expression of art an attractive release. However, I’m a horrid painter. I even have trouble getting paint on the paintbrushes, but determined I am to grow in my abilities as an artist. So, eventually I will not only relieve stress when I paint but also produce a work of art recognizable to other individuals.

The sun was shinning and my roommate and I decided to go to the grocery store. We were strolling down the isles when we caught sight of what we called the “cheese island”. We were over come by the immense variety of cheeses available in every shape, size, color and texture. It was then that I decided I needed to eventually try them all. And thus began my pursuit to discover and experience the cornucopia of cheese available at the grocery store.
