I have reached a milestone in our investment, thanks to the upward trending stocks. I’m so glad I started non retirement investing in early march. Turns out that was the perfect time. This year our main focus will be stocks, since there is such a crazy good sale going on. Next year we will probably reduce how much we are putting in a little so we can save more cash for real estate investment (land) or a rental home.

How I did it: We got a good deal on engineered bamboo on craigslist about a month ago. last weekend we started with pulling up the carpet, pad, and tack strips. and removing all the trim. then we started laying the floor. this weekend we finished everything except the last course, which we did last night. It's beautiful. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Several weeks ago, I had one and made about $150, but didn't get rid of all the stuff I wanted to. This weekend I just decided I want it all GONE. So it was any 1 item free, all else 50 cents or less. I didn't care what it was. I gave away old prepaid cell phones a leather jacket, and a desk. I made about $15- $20 dollars, but saw lots of things go. Then I gathered up all the halfway decent stuff and took it to goodwill. Then I set the re… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I have really come to understand what motivates me, and to work hard to appease my life goals. I have found that the more I work at being a better person, by doing things like being environmentally concience, volunteering, and just trying to be kind and fair, I've really become very happy because I'm happy with myself and the progress I continually make. Also, I've learned to pay more attention to the things around me, and have rediscover… Read how I did it…

now that the blue room is officially the yellow room, the next area of the house to go after is our master bath.
It has dark teal capret. The same that is in the bedroom actually (your time will come bedroom!) yes, our house has plush carpet in the bathroom.
A couple of things mark this room as the next item of focus on our list, besides the carpet, but what really sealed the deal was when we found a nice bed for the yellow room, it came with a fabulous wash stand, which we want to use instead of our sink. And I do mean instead.
I can’t bring myself to cut up a beautiful antique, and the cool washstands that are ready to have the bowl type sink on them aren’t cheap either. So I got to thinking, I have a faucet in the bathtub, and I can pour waste water in the toilet, so why not just use an actual wash stand with a bowl and pitcher. It’s loads cheaper, no plumbing to develop a leak, and I think it will look awesome So that is exactly what I plan to do.
I painted my old yellowed french provincial a new clean white. It looks fantastic. I also took an old keepsake, but very childish framed item and turned it into something very nice that I can keep. I painted the frame white, turned the board around so the old image faced the wall, painted the back of the board to match the room it is going into’s ceiling, then flattened and dried some solomon’s seal from my garden, and painted it yellow to match the walls, and reframed it. Now I can keep the old piture, but I don’t have to show it off. And I have a perfectly coordinated piece of decor. yay!
