It’s taken a while, but I think I’m finally there. I am a Pacifist. OK, so I’m no Dalhi Lama, but at least I’m on the bottom rung of the Pacifist Ladder, and I guess that’s a start, right?

I’ve realised now that there are other ways of dealing with problems, other than fighting – why fight, when you can talk and be generally nice? We proved this in WW1 didn’t we? The Germans had a football match with the English, and they were friends for a couple of hours, yet they killed each other the next day. Where’s the sense? If anyone can see it…son’t hesitate to tell me.

I’ve learnt to deal with the anger that builds up inside when I see the army, navy, RAF etc. My cousin wants to be a piolet in the RAF, my other cousin is going to army camp next week. Sure, I don’t agree with it, but I’ve developed this frame of mind where I think – sure – why not – let the people who want to fight, have their wars and kill each other. My problem comes when innocent people get involved.

I also think that someone should be tackling the propoganda that is thrust at children at such a young age. Armed Forces recruitment talks, CCF and Cadets should be banned in under 16 schools, because only those people who are aware of the other arguments, choose to challenge the idea of the adventure that a career in this sector would provide and are intellegent enough to make their own decisions.

The people these talks target are too young, the government insists, to make the decision about entering a sexual relationship, getting a morgage, buying cigarettes, or even their own deodrants (due to restricting laws on solvants Yet, apparently, it is fine for them to make the desicion to swear an oath to the queen, understand what it means and stake their life fighting unnessecerily in another country for a cause they are too young to understand; also to trust them at the trigger of dangerous and life threatening weapons.

This life is not right, and I refuse to be a part of it that makes it so. I think I can now say that I am a pacifist, and a solider for the only right cause – Peace. Thankyou and good luck. xxx

I think i’ve finaly found peace….i realize its not about living on a lakeside, being quiet….its about knowing your own intelligence, feeling good about yourself.

As long as I have myself and posiblly a few friends…i’ll have peace. As long as I remain fairly clever…i’ll have peace. As long as I’m happy with who I am, have goals, and the one man who has always been there for me and who i love with all my heart…I will have peace.

I really have to stop over reacting!!!!
The other day a couple of RAF people came in to talk to us about how maths can help you get a job in the armed services and all i could think was:
I hate them – they fight which completly destroys the whole like everyone theory. I mean it’s not their fault that they’re in the RAF they don’t think like me they just want to protect they’re country. Without them we’d probabbly be invaded by some random country. i feel better already! In fact i think i might get a job in the army….Only Joking!

We all live in the same world. we’re all people just with different skin colours and different opinions. War is a crime against humanity. What are we all fighting about anyway?

I don’t believe peace is only part of war, but is anyone else wearin a white poppy next rememberence sunday?

i want to find peace in everything. To me a world without war, hate or stress must be a better world. I want to wake up in the morning without being worried and feeling good about myself. Not worried what other people might think of me. I want to be able to accept other people’s opinion and other people accept my opinion, without fighting over who is right.

Why won’t anyone give peace a chance?

I hav more important things to do with my life than sit in frount of the TV. Like become Eco friendly…..

I couldn’t find a local group that felt the sam eway about the environment as I did, so I stared one at my school with the help of my science teacher. Now we’re well on the way to becomin an Eco friendly school!

i agree with you. I want to be more like him because he never thought about himself, only other people. When people insulted him and Yoko he stood up for her and he stood up for him. He was never afarid to say what he thought or speak his mind. I’m glad that someone actually thinks the same as I do about this truly amazing person!

i think i’ve finally done it!!!! The other day this person was on about war and death and felt like i wanted to say something. I feel like we should all live in peace and stop fighting. What’s the point? All it does is make things worse. I feel that i am truely a peace loving, anti-war, pacifist hippy! And proud of it.

It was really fun! If you go to the Dublin area be sure to visit The Guiness factory. Also try and get some walking done in the country! The scenary is brilliant!

I think you’re right! Bein a hippie is all about free will! Leave all the drug dealin 2 all the sad people in teh world! I also think politics should be sorted out amongt polititions (except the whole campaign fro nuclear disarment which they no nothing about) I wont judge you for bein a 12 year old hippy caus to be truthful i’m a 13 year old hippy!
