How I did it: I started studying Japanese in October 2007 but I have been listening to JPOP and watching anime in Japanese since year 2000.I also used my Nintendo DS Lite to learn Kanji with the "Kakitori-kun" game, very useful as it has the nearly 2000 kanji in it and it teaches how to write (or draw) them.In December 2008 I took the Noken level 4 (Japanese Language Proficiency Test, JLPT is an official Japanese ability test from Japan Foundation).
