I’ve done 4 quilts now. They’re so rewarding. I’d suggest 2 things:
1) Make the first one a smaller quilt – quicker gratification
2) Buy some of the proper tools…it makes the process so much more enjoyable.
I’ll try to post a picture of my most recent quilt (never tried to post a pic here). I love, love, love picking out fabrics.

I’m hosting my 7th and 8th exchange students this semester. I’ve hosted students from Japan and Saudi Arabia. The two this semester will be from Japan and Jordan. All my students have been in a program through the local university so they have all been at least 18 years old. The main advantage that I see in having older students is that they are more independent. I do spend time and do things with my students but, for the most part, they come and go as they please…very good for me as I sometimes have to work late or am involved in various community activities where I have to be away in the evenings.
