i just finished “the end of poverty” by jeffrey sachs. a great book by an economist professor on how the world can work together to end extreme poverty. i don’t normally like reading non-fiction but this book was quite illuminating.

i finished reading “max and the cats” by moacyr scliar. supposedly, life of pi’s plot may be based on this book. it was a good, short novel & not at all similar to life of pi.

i finished “the centaur in the garden” by moacyr scliar. it’s unrealistic, but pretty well written. you really feel for the centaur & his trials. i want to try to find his other book, max and the cats. supposedly, the plot is similar to life of pi, and there was a controversy that life of pi was taken from max and the cats. my goal is to read 50 books by end of the year… so i’ve got 42 more books to go!
