Fun! Fun! Fun! I really enjoyed the story of this book. I’m not sure how “authentic” it is but the story is really neat. Also, reading about the women working so hard inspired me to clean my house including all those dark little corners where things pile up. Probably not the author’s intention – but hey, do what works!

How I did it: I really thought breastfeeding would be incredibly difficult. I've heard so many stories of mom's bawling their eyes out with the baby crying and no one getting any peace or rest.My little preemie had both a tongue tie and a really bad case of jaundice. The tongue tie meant he had problems latching and the jaundice meant it was imperative to get more food in him through supplementation. We supplemented with donor breast milk for the first … Read how I did it…
How I did it: We got pregnant. Then we signed up for prenatal classes. They were fun and were supposed to be completed four weeks before the baby arrived. We got to the pre-labour class, the two labour classes and then, before we got to the class that deals with "what the heck do you do after you've had the baby" we had a baby. Our classes were in the same wing of the hospital as our room for baby so we took the baby down in the bassinet with… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Umm... sex is the traditional way to create a baby. After that make sure you eat properly and get good prenatal care. We had a bit of a scare when the baby came five weeks early and very quickly (12 hours), but in the end Baby is healthy and growing and wonderful! Read how I did it…

Still not sure how I feel about this book, just finished it this morning. It was a long read and at times I felt there was way too much description. It had a few interesting themes, but I felt let down by the end of the book – I wanted some closure and didn’t get any.
Then again I cared enough about the characters to ask “What happened next?”
Now I’m onto The Help, fun!
This is another autobiography by a Canadian stand up comedienne—Jessica Holmes. She looks vaguely familiar but I don’t know her work as well as Russell Peters (whose biography I just finished).
Anyhow, this was a shining example of how an autobiography should be written. It had a clear storyline and really brought me along with her. I didn’t know her work, but I really enjoyed her and will be keeping my eye open for more from her. I think I’m going to send her an email and tell her how much I enjoyed her work.
Go Jessica!
