My little basil seedlings are coming up. So adorable!
This evening I sowed my basil seeds. It was a simple procedure, I was expecting something a bit more time consuming. I wasn’t very careful. But they will grow. Tomorrow I will pot my other herbs.
So, I went to target and found a backgammon case for 8 dollars. Nice. It was missing a piece. Not nice. But it came with directions. Nice. I cannot follow directions. Not nice. Time to find someone who knows what the hell they are doing.
I would like to go fishing so I can hang up a sign on my door that says “Gone Fishin’”. Not really. I’ve heard that fishing is an art. I’m curious. Not just to stick a pole with a worm into a creek but to experience the process.
Moderately silly considering I grew up on a farm with several horses, also considering my first job was working at a stable. So obviously it has been a while since I’ve been on a horse. Guess its time to get back in the saddle again (hahahahaha). Oh Gene Autry.
Yesterday I bought some plants. Today I found several pots underneath the house. Tomorrow I will plant the plants in the pots. I will most likely talk to the plants while they are being planted. In my mind, this will help them grow. Oh, PS- the basil. I am going to sow basil seeds. The idea is to completely grow these seeds from scratch (?) as opposed to tending the already farmers market cultivated herbs. tomorrow!
I have been debating the to pierce or not to pierce for years… piercing anything that is. Currently I haven’t ONE piercing, what about your ears? Nope. Not even mah ears. So why septum? And, why now? Well, I find the septum piercing incredibly feminine and delicate. From my point of view a pierced septum has a less drastic aesthetic as opposed to pierced ears, labrets, eyebrows, etc and word on the street… it can be easily hidden (oh thank heaven). It is now or never. By now I mean this Saturday. Wish luck?
I was contemplating a blackberry peach pie but damnit blackberries are expensive. I settled on organic white peaches and raspberries. I believe I overdosed the fruit mixture on sugar. The crust looks moderately successful. In 15 min I’ll roll the dough, fit it in the pan, pour in the mixture, then bake that bitch. And oh yes, I’m going to try my luck at that lattice thing.
I am going to grow basil, rosemary, and thyme. I’ll sow the basil myself and will expect this goal to be completed when I can make my own basil oil from the basil I have grown.
Although it is past the nesting season I plan on building a birdhouse. I will head to the public library this weekend to pick up a few how-to books. If all goes well I shall make my way to Lowe’s, get the necessary supplies, and get building.
My mother and I used to play backgammon when I was a child. But the pieces were so smooth and shiny that I always ended up putting them in my mouth. So now, it would be nice to play again (correctly) and without trying to eat the pieces. Also, if by learning how to play backgammon can keep a friend from playing Halo for 5 minutes, then I’ll have done my job.
Very simple, I want to be able to make a decent pie and pie crust from scratch.
Yesterday I decided to play the uke and today I ordered one. Within the week I will be playing : )
