so many books!
Okay, I am a librarian. So it is my nature to hoard books. And everyone gives me books! My family knows that I am covered in books. What do they give me for Christmas? More books, of course!
Even books that I don’t particularly find useful and books that I have finished reading, I reason must stay, in case someone wishes to “visit” my personal “library” (which they do) and borrow it.
So anyways, I did some book rearranging last night. So there are no longer books hanging out on the floor (they had been there for at least a month). So, that’s a positive.
My other problem with books is that I try to read waaay to many at one time. I’m only reading one fiction book at a time, which is easy for me (although, it takes me forever, because of all the other books). It is the Nonfiction that gets me, though, because I want to know about everything—especially if it is a good book about God. Also, anytime I have a problem or something to figure out, I usually consult a book about it.
I can’t tell you how many books I’m trying to read right now. I try to stick to seven, but it’s hard. I know I need to spend more time reading. So I think I will get started with that right now.
I’m reading Christy, it is about a girl who is teaching some poor, Appalachian children. It’s good, but I have issues keeping my focus on fiction. (The opposite of everyone else.)

nightly ritual
I read last night, but not the night before.
I tend to forget to read my two chapters of the New Testament on nights when I am not sleeping in my own bed, since it is sort of a nightly ritual for me. The main prompter is that my Bible is right by my head on the headboard of my bed. So I remember to do it. And I actually enjoy it. In fact, I am in 3 John now. All I have left is Jude and Revelations. I am looking forward to Revelations, but it is difficult to comprehend and a bit frightening to me.
Also, I want to read a Proverb every day—one for each day of the month, since there are 31 proverbs and typically 31 days in a month. I got this idea from my great friend and owner of a wonderful coffee shop in town.
I did buy a travel Bible about a month ago. So hopefully that will help.

Everytime I think I have her trained, she lets me down. Granted, she’s only 3 months old. But still, we’ve been doing this for two weeks. Some days she does really well-when I am here to watch her and let her out exactly when she is supposed to go out. Whereas, everyone else is sort of haphazard.
Another problem, is that I have started letting her out in the backyard because she started running out into the street. So the new environment is something she must adjust to.
I just keep reminding myself (or trying to convince myself) that we are making progress everyday.
I just took her out and she tried to go in the spot (in the front yard) where she likes to go. I guess I’ll have to keep taking her out front to poop and then to the back to play, so she doesn’t run into the street. (I know about the leash law, but she won’t go at all on a leash.)
