Well, I got all the computers networked first, and the 3 desktops & one laptop are all talking to each other. My next goal was to be able to play my MP3s & view my digital photos from my network to my home theater, but wasn’t sure what approach to take (there are so many). I learned about some of the new features of TiVo (TiVo-to-go, TiVo desktop), then found out about the home-made TiVo programs, and that was enough to convince me… so I bought a TiVo. I finally got that all set up with the network, and I can now stream my music & photos to my TV, as well as send recorded content from my TiVo to my computer(s). I downloaded several of the HME programs, and I can now use my TV to view Google Maps, Flickr, and Weather info, as well as play some basic games via TiVo, and create custom playlists, so that’s pretty cool. I’m holding off on getting the Playstation networked—I’ll probably wait until one of the next-generation consoles comes out (Xbox2 or PS3). I have no idea if I can get Sirius networked, and even if I can, why would I want to (other than to record)? Same with the mobile phone, I guess… :o)
The locals get a good laugh at the tourists who kiss the Blarney Stone…. because the locals like to pee on it. Trust me, kiss something else.
