So no more donating blood for me. Something about something I’ve done (even once) since 1977.
Ah well, screw ‘em. If they don’t want my blood, I’ll keep it.

My biggest tip on this goal? Steal from other people. Adapt as necessary, but you’ll find a lot of things that you hadn’t thought about.
I’m at 308 and counting. Feel free to grab some.
I was all set to go, then I got diagnosed with cancer. Spent my whole summer at home between diagnosis and treatment :/
Hotel booked for ‘07, roommates arranged, travel arranged, badge bought.
Now is just a waiting game.
It’s hard to find sushi-grade fish in many places. When I made it last, I was living in New York City. I think rolling is the hardest part, I never got the knack for it. It was still yummy though, even though it wasn’t all tight and neat like in a restaurant.
If you give at a Red Cross drive they will mail you a donor card which includes your bloodtype.
Tips:
Write small things. Split large things up. Don’t tell stories, that’s what a blog is for. Copy other people’s items if they’re the same. Use other people’s items to make your own if you’re different. Watch out for duplicates.

I really enjoyed my first list of 100, so I did another. They are:

I’m pretty introspective, but looking at other people’s lists helped me a lot, as well as various memes that float around and such. You’ve probably answered at least that many questions about yourself on your MySpace page (ugh). Even if you don’t want to include all of them on your 100-things list, there are probably a few you could use.
300 here I come!
given the option, i’d favor SSI over PADI. Definitely take a course with a dive shop, the whole deal, not just some cruise ship crash course. That’s how people get hurt.
seeing snow is one thing. If you can see some and not have to touch it, all the better. My favorite way to see snow is through double windows, while drinking cocoa.
I just finished my associates degree at SUNY Cobleskill, and I’m accepted to Virginia Tech for the fall. Things are starting to look up.
I started a second list of a hundred things about me. It is started at http://log.davedot.com/about/author/hundreds/
At time of this entry, I’m at 36 on the site. I won’t repost those. Here are the new ones:
37. I’ve always wanted to play Harvey from the play by the same name.
38. I’m fascinated by Christianity in a folkloric sense.
39. I’m right handed.
40. I’ll involuntarily perform incredibly intricate rhythms with my feet when I’m falling asleep.
41. I carry a notebook in my pocket.
42. I’ve always been very introverted.
43. I think a busy street in New York City is more private than a room with two friends.
44. In writing, I always say New York City to refer to the city, and New York to refer to the state.
45. I’m addicted to Wikipedia (and I have the test score to prove it!)
46. I dance my cares away down in Fraggle Rock.
47. I can clamshell my tongue.
Yeah, I’m stopping and starting on odd numbers. get over it.
I got a mini-tripod for my Kodak DX4530. I’ve started carrying it with me wherever I go, despite the odd looks I occasionally get. Unfortunately, I’ve misplaced both my SD card reader and the little mini-USB cable that I need to get pictures off it.
Installing a photo gallery on my website has definitely increased the amount of picture taking/organizing I do.
I did this at Tauganhook (tuh GAN ik, get it right) Falls State Park, New York. It’s like an hour from my house. The park was nearly empty, so I swam out to the falls. I barely made it back before ranger showed up, and I would’ve been ticketed heavily. Also, Tauganhook is the highest waterfall in the US, so it stung a little bit, but the water flow wasn’t bad. Just do it somewhere where you won’t get caught.

My uncle bought it for me, so it might be cheating. Whatever. I like it.
Gents: It floats up a bit.
Totally worth it, but make sure it’s warm your first time. I’ve polar-beared nude, but it’s not how you wanna start. If you’ve got a hot-tub, or access to one, that’s a good place to start. A sauna is a decent way of getting used to being naked around people. You just gotta be comfortable with yourself.
I have fasted on water for as little as a day and as much as a week at a time, but I really never felt any better at the end. For me, it was an issue of will and self-punishment, so my reasons weren’t the best. With a good reason, I don’t see anything wrong with it. Don’t develop bad habits though. You’d be better off switching to an organic vegetables and grass-fed beef diet if you’re worried about health.
SCUBA diving has been one of the most fulfilling things in my life. If you’re going to get certified, go with SSI (SCUBA Schools International), skip this YMCA stuff, and definitely don’t just take a cruise ship crash course. People get hurt that way. It’s more expensive, but if you’re going to do it, do it right.
