Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

It's not at all what you'ld expect.

The isolation.
The competition.
The sabotage.
The lack of collaberation.
It’s unreal.
There is no such thing as “real friend” in law school.
If anyone wants a little free advise, it’s this . . .
Just do the work, keep your head in the books, trust no one, and don’t give a damn what anyone else thinks or has to say.
I’m not saying you can’t be social, by all means be social, “play the game”, just hold your cards close to your vest. Law school is all about having an edge, and the best way to have an edge is to not give anything away about how you study or outline. Speaking of outlining,...start right away, the first day. Don’t listen to 2L’s, or 3L’s that say to wait a couple of weeks before starting. Start day one, your only gonna get bussier as time passes. Build a good outline for each class, and commit it to memory before finals. Scratch it out on paper at the begining of your final exam and you’ll have it made. And don’t give a damn what anyone else says their outline is like. Just trust yours.
They might be out to mess you up.
I can’t wait to go back and kick some ass.

I’ve had to take a medical deferal after 7 weeks of classes. But I’ve been told I can retrun with no harm no foul for the next term. I was really messed up bad, and I’ve been told I made the right decision. I’m really looking forward to returning and getting back to work on my law degree. I miss my classes, professors, and classmates.
