I’ve been knitting now for going on 20 years (i’m the grand old age of 29!) and i do it in fits and starts, it has to be said. but i do love knitting with a passion and i’ve made some stunning pieces, mostly with the aid of vogue knitting magazine. if you don’t have a subscription to it then i highly recommend it to you all. it has lovely contemporary pieces – not the kind of thing you’d find in women’s mags by and large. and it’s all gradiated according to how hard the piece is to make. my next step will be attempting to design stuff. so the first project is to make a fairly simple chunky cardy for my lovely (and not horribly style-concious) boyfriend…

it’s been a long time since i took my a-levels (exams taken at the age of 18 for non-uk readers) and here i am doing another at an evening class. it won’t help me get a better job – at least, that’s not what i’m taking it for – but i do love languages and the fine art of communication. i have to do masses of preparation for my oral exams in may (which means i have to commit two introductions to memory or fail badly) and then onto the good old written jobbies in june. in the meantime i’ve got two essays to write, both of which count towards my final mark. gulp!
