AA works for me 2 years ago

I drank and used drugs during my teens, and wound up incarcerated as a result of my behavior. I was introduced to AA at that time and almost immediately knew I belonged. I have now been sober over 10 years and am happy with my life.

AA may not be for everybody, but it does work for those who want to be sober and who are willing to work for it. Go ahead and try the other ways mentioned here first, then try AA last!
