I’ve learned a great deal about trusting myself. When it comes to matters of the heart, the gut is your best guide for decision-making. You usually have that pivotal argument poised from the Logical Dept. about how he’s just not worth it because he hasn’t done any personal work, nor does it seem likely that he will in the immediate future…and the counter-argument from the Lust Dept. speaks up and screams, “come on! He’s gorgeous and he really wouldn’t be with you if he didn’t want you!”. This battle continues in a rally, leaving you feeling nauseated and confused. When you haven’t slept in days because of that nagging thought about his deal-breaking behaviours, then it’s time to move on…without him. Forget that sinkhole of a personality who lured you into his web of lies. Remember that you are a completely vibrant, intelligent and beautifully strong woman who trusts that her happiness depends solely on herself, and is based in truth, integrity and kindness.

How I did it: I talked about it for a while with friends. Bought tickets. Booked a hotel, reserved a ferry ride, coordinated the camping gear...drove several hundred kilometers. Showed up at the destination. Read how I did it…
I’ve been a practicing RN for 11 yrs (yikes), and had always planned to return to finish the BSN…life took over. Last January I enrolled in full time studies (distance-ed) and I am currently wrapping up my second to last semester. I am SO happy that this journey is coming to an end, as it has been intensely challenging. The process is worth it, though, as I’m going to be more marketable in a profession that needs us more than ever. I highly recommend the completion of a degree to any RN who has a long road ahead in their career…think of it as an investment in your future!
