identify 100 things that make me happy (besides money)
#100 2 years ago

Rest… Who doesn’t want rest. This time changing business really messes me up. I’m sure that with proper rest, I would feel refreshed and have more energy than I know what do with. I know that this is all wishful thinking…. It’s really hard to get rest when you have two little ones. I will try going to bed earlier maybe.

make more time for myself
Night Life 2 years ago

I need to make more time for me. I went out with a friend last night. This morning when my girls woke me up, I felt so refreshed. I had adult talk, adult drinks, adult atomsphere. I didn’t have to worry about what to make for dinner, and the common mother thoughts. I was able to enjoy myself, and clear my head. I felt beautiful and sexy all dressed up in something other than my normal motherly clothes.I want to do this a few times a month now.

stop biting my nails (read all 2 entries…)
What makes me do it? 3 years ago

I bit my nails about 30 minutes ago, I couldn’t resist it. I really didn’t have to do it, I just wanted to. I tell my husband not to do it, I tell my 3 year old not to do it….. I am one huge contradiction. I have tried to keep my hands busy by doing needlepoint, typing, etc. but for some reason I look at my fingernails. They look so tempting, I can’t resist them. I will try not to, I promise.

influence others positively
"Ignorance is Expensive" 3 years ago

I try my best to give good advice to people, sometimes I wonder why they don’t use it. One of my favorite quotes goes well with this, “Wise men profit more from fools than fools from wise men; for the wise men shun the mistakes of fools, but fools do not imitate the successes of the wise” Marcus Cato. I have one friend that always crys and gets hurt, what I don’t understand, why doesn’t she just listen to me. Everyone should take the negative out of there life. Stress affects you, physically and mentally. Drama drains you. I have found myself not calling her, I am somewhat tired of the pattern and cycle within her life. So instead of approaching the situation with the typical atttitude, Why Bother, I think I am going to keep giving her advice with the attitude that maybe one day she may become wiser. When and If that day comes, I think I should slap with her a big bill. Headline of the bill should say, “Ignorance is Expensive”.

win the lottery
Slim Chances 3 years ago

To win the Lottery one most play the Lottery. I did really good for awhile, I picked a set of numbers and played them regulary. I missed a big jackpot, each number that I had picked was a number off. I did win a free ticket once. I guess my goal is to play more.

try to live by Benjamin Franklin's 13 Virtures
Benjamin Franklin's 13 Virtues 3 years ago

I am not saying that this is what I want to do forever, but I would like to give it a fair chance in my life. Something maybe I will learn from. Who knows I will let you know.

Temperance: Eat not to dullness; drink not to elevation.

Silence: Speak not but what may benefit others or yourself; avoid trifling conversation.

Order: Let all your things have their places; let each part of your business have its time.

Resolution: Resolve to perform what you ought; perform without fail what you resolve.

Frugality: Make no expense but to do good to others or yourself; i.e., waste nothing.

Industry: Lose no time; be always employed in something useful; cut off all unnecessary actions.

Sincerity: Use no hurtful deceit; think innocently and justly, and, if you speak, speak accordingly.

Justice: Wrong none by doing injuries, or omitting the benefits that are your duty.

Moderation: Avoid extremes; forbear resenting injuries so much as you think they deserve.

Cleanliness: Tolerate no uncleanliness in body, cloths, or habitation.

Tranquility: Be not disturbed at trifles, or at accidents common or unavoidable.

Chastity: Rarely use venery but for health or offspring, never to dullness, weakness, or the injury of your own or another’s peace or reputation.
Humility : Imitate Jesus and Socrates.

meet new people
Meet New People 3 years ago

I want to meet new people at least every two to three times a week. So I will keep my sanity, staying home with the girls is straining my adult talk just a tad.
