A. took me to Monterey Bay for a weekend during the MLK Jr Weekend 1/17-18/09. We drove out there early Saturday morning, had reservations for lunch at the Monterey Bay restaurant (it was pretty good and a beautiful view). He reserved a room for us at the Hyatt in Monterey Bay. It was beautiful! And they gave us a complimentary breakfast the day after that was amazing! It was definitely not bagel and coffee it was like a real breakfast whatever you wanted to order from their menu. On Sunday we drove down to Carmel by the Sea (about 5-10 mins from the Hyatt). we were going to eat at the famous french toast restaurant but after the comp. breakfast we were full so we walked down to the beach side. It was a gorgeous day even though it was January! There were a lot of people on the beach but it wasn’t too crowded! We could see Pebble Beach in the background. On our way back to Berkeley, we walked down Monterey Bay Fisherman’s Warf—it definitely is much dirtier than SF’s fisherman’s warf but it was still nice to go down there.
All in all, the aquarium was awesome. The sea otter exhibit is awesome since it’s two stories but it gets really full so you should get there early for “feeding” times. But if you love sea otters, they’re just as cute and entertaining regardless of feed times.
