Back in the good ol’ days before work, college, and other adult responsibilities, I would spend hours searching for new bands. Back when my income was a little more disposable, I would spend all my money on shows and new CDs. I want to get back into to discovering new music. It shouldn’t be too hard with the internet at my fingertips!

I want to discover at least 5 new musicians each month. I really only need one day to find 5 new people through myspace. All I have to do is go to one artist’s myspace and then look through their friends, find one or two from there and then look through those people’s friends, etc. I want to try and find them all at the beginning of the month and then dedicate the entire month to listening to them—that way I can really find out if I like/dislike them.

I’ve already discovered three this week because I went to the Kevin Devine show last night. I’d only heard a couple of his songs before last night. He was actually my least favorite of the night. The band that opened for him (Brian Bonz) was really good and Sarah Jaffe (another opening act) was by far my favorite. She was completely my style of music and she had an amazing live show. She’s actually local so I plan on seeing her play again this summer. :)

I used to love reading. I would take a book with me everywhere in my purse and read on it every chance I got. I haven’t read like that in years because I’m always too busy with other things. The first book I plan on reading is Twilight because I happen to have a copy in my apartment and I must see what all the fuss is about. :)

I got my book in yesterday! :) I’m definitely gonna need a month for to study. There’s a lot of information to learn. It doesn’t look as easy as people made it sound, but ir doesn’t look too hard. I just need to study every day!
