Just finished watching the John Adams HBO miniseries. Amazing. There are some discrepancies between it and the more true-to-life book of the same name by David McCullough, whose book 1775 is also on my shelf waiting to be read. I want to read A People’s History of the United States by Howard Zinn, before I get on with that.

How I did it: I locked myself in my room over the course of two long weekends and just read each story. Plato's prose is not difficult to read and the dialectic format really lends itself to you. By the time I was done, it was a pretty great feeling to know that I had a better knowledge of the founding father of philosophy and his successor than most. And it makes me think of everything from the perspective of its foundation now, so that I never accept… Read how I did it…
How I did it: It was a far cry from my 0.5 GPA in high school, but it wasn't surprisingly all that difficult. I just studied hard when the teachers impressed upon me that a test would be particularly difficult, spent some nights without sleeping to ensure that my essay was free of errors. I made use of flash cards for the first time in my life for my Biology course (I'm weak in math and science.) I attended every lecture and spent at least three h… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I flew from New York to Los Angeles, where I bought a car. Drove it to my hometown in Miami, FL., by taking the southern route (Route 66 for some part of it.) Went through 11 states in the South and stayed in Miami for a little while. Once I was done, I packed all my things from my mom's house and headed up to New York, where I took all of my things there out of storage and packed them into the back of my car. I gave my furniture to chari… Read how I did it…

Lifting the working and poor classes to a point where they have a voice, and then making that voice heard.
I want to save $2,000 up every month until I leave New York in September. I’ve succeeded in the first month, although I’m subsisting on ham and cheese sandwiches, Friday nights are for reading, and I have to make really good use of my nights and weekends minutes on my downgraded cell phone plan.
The most I stipulated I could save was $16,000, so I’m working towards that goal with smaller, monthly incremental goals.
It was especially difficult this month with my Banana Republic subscription e-mailing me with 40% off post-Winter sales. But I have not succumbed.
