give myself the room to ramble. (read all 5 entries…)
Today has been the most wonderful kind of day.

I did my shift answering phones at the extension office for the Master Gardeners. Right as I was am ready to leave one of my favorite people show up and takes me to lunch. I get home and the only subject sweet Sarah has left is math. Her and AJ got all the rest done! Then, to top it off, my oldest comes over to spend the night and some time with us. I got our farm tax I.D. # renewed for the farm and have got some lines on someone to plow the front meadow wheat AND someone to buy a pregnant milk cow from! Tomorrow, after Sarah’s schooling, I will be starting the detailed planning of the spring garden. I’m soooo excited! Tonight? I’ll be getting off here and enjoying some family time! Man, is it good to be me or what?!?

to sheild my children from the things that they don't need to worry about at their ages.
Once again,

I’ve been inspired by a friend. Her post reminded me of an objective I have with my children. Upon reflection, I realized how much I need to keep that objective on the front page of my goals list. Things are hard for me and MM right now. We are bumping heads a LOT right now. I need to remember that it is not something that they need to worry about. I need to be mindful of the things that I say in front of them. I know that we are going to work things out. I do not want to plant in seeds of doubt or insecurity in their minds in regards to the stability of our family.

Make acorn flour from gathered acorns
I learned of this from a new friend on this site.

I am going to look into it this fall after the acorns have dropped. Google, here I come.
